Man arrested after knife attack on Reeperbahn
A 42-year-old man is suspected of stabbing a 46-year-old man several times in the back with a knife on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg-St. Pauli on Monday evening. The incident followed a verbal argument after he and his partner happened to meet her former partner. A paramedic who was nearby initially treated the life-threateningly injured victim, who then underwent emergency surgery in hospital and is now out of danger. The suspect initially fled but was later provisionally arrested at his home in Hamburg-Altona and is to be brought before a judge. The homicide unit continues to investigate.
