Man threatens neighbours with knife in Gütersloh
Police were alerted on the afternoon of 17 January to a 45-year-old resident of a municipal facility causing a disturbance in Gütersloh. Witnesses reported that he handled a knife after, among other things, triggering a fire alarm and striking doors and windows. When police sought to take him into custody, he allegedly resisted and attempted to hit and kick officers. After his release, police were called again because he was allegedly causing a disturbance at his residence and threatening neighbours with a knife. He was then admitted to a psychiatric hospital, and police opened investigations.
