Man threatens police officers with knife in Großenhain
Police officers were called to a home in Großenhain's Uebigau district on 12 January after a 31-year-old man had announced that he intended to take his own life. Inside the apartment, the man sprayed the officers with an irritant liquid and threatened them with a knife. An officer then used his service weapon. The man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, while four officers sustained minor injuries. Criminal police are investigating, including the lawfulness of the firearm use.
