Man injured in knife attack in Grefrath
A 20-year-old man was injured by a knife stab in a car park near a festival tent in Grefrath during the night into Friday. According to the investigation so far, he had first been involved in a verbal dispute with three men. One of the men is alleged to have drawn a knife and injured him.
Emergency responders took the man to hospital for inpatient treatment. His life was initially considered potentially at risk, but his condition later stabilised and he remained under medical care. Police arrested a minor suspect, while another person involved turned himself in at a police station. The other two people initially detained were released because there was no urgent suspicion against them. A homicide investigation unit is investigating suspected attempted homicide.
