Man threatens residents with knife in Glückstadt
On 24 May at about 14:30, a 26-year-old man threatened several residents with a knife at a state accommodation facility for refugees in Glückstadt and released irritant gas. Police arrested him without resistance shortly afterwards. During a subsequent search of the building, two police officers were found to have suffered respiratory irritation from the gas and were treated at the scene by paramedics. Police said there were no other injuries. A public health doctor ordered the man's admission to a psychiatric hospital, and police opened criminal proceedings on suspicion of making threats.
