Man arrested after attempted petrol station robbery in Gernsheim
Police arrested a 29-year-old suspect after an attempted robbery at a petrol station in Gernsheim. The man allegedly entered the sales area at about 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, threatened an employee with a knife and demanded cigarettes and vodka.
The employee triggered an alarm and took hold of pepper spray. The man fled on foot but was arrested shortly afterwards near the petrol station. He is being investigated on suspicion of attempted robbery.
