Children threatened with knife in Gelsenkirchen; boy slightly injured
On 7 October 2026, a boy allegedly threatened two other children with a knife on Ückendorfer Straße in Gelsenkirchen and demanded cash from a girl. The other boy sustained a minor injury from the knife; the girl was unharmed. A dispute among children and teenagers had preceded the incident, and a crowd gathered outside a residential building at around 6:45 p.m. Police officers resolved the situation, ordered several people to leave and opened proceedings against the suspected boy for dangerous bodily harm and attempted extortion by robbery. A suspected weapon was found nearby and seized.
