Woman dies after stab wound in Gelsenkirchen
A 24-year-old woman died after suffering a stab wound in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. Witnesses called police at about 5:05 p.m. on Monday afternoon on Velsenstraße, where officers found her lying on the ground outside an apartment building. Emergency services took her to hospital, but she died despite emergency surgery. A 27-year-old suspect was provisionally detained at the scene, and prosecutors applied for a pre-trial detention warrant. The background to the incident remains under investigation.
