Employee injured in attempted robbery in Gelsenkirchen

Three masked people are alleged to have attempted to rob a discount store in Gelsenkirchen-Scholven shortly before closing time on 16 July. Two entered the store while a third waited outside. One suspect ordered a 54-year-old employee to open the till and go to the safe, held a knife and struck her with it. She was injured and received medical treatment after the incident. A second suspect threatened another employee with an electroshock device. When the store manager intervened, all three fled without any proceeds.
