Woman attacked with stab injuries in Geesthacht
An 84-year-old woman was attacked in a stairwell on Berliner Straße in Geesthacht at about 10:20 a.m. on 18 February and suffered life-threatening stab injuries. She reached a medical practice, received initial treatment and was taken to hospital; she was no longer in danger of dying. A 58-year-old man went to a police station shortly after the attack and presented a stabbing weapon that police believe may have been used in the offence. He was provisionally detained. At the prosecution's request, Lübeck Local Court ordered the suspect's temporary placement in a psychiatric hospital, and police are seeking witnesses.
