Man remanded in custody after fatal knife attack in Freiburg
A 74-year-old man died following a knife attack on Tuesday evening outside a church community centre in Freiburg's Rieselfeld district. A warrant was issued for a 30-year-old suspect on allegations of murder and attempted murder, and he has been remanded in custody. Police arrested him near Berliner Allee later that evening and found the suspected weapon close to the scene. Police and prosecutors said they believe the same man had already attacked and seriously injured a 29-year-old man with a knife near Schlossbergring on Sunday. Investigators initially had no information about a motive or possible links between the suspect and the victims.
