Knife threat against man reported at Essen central station
Federal police are investigating an alleged threat involving a kitchen knife near Essen central station on October 9. Following a verbal exchange, a 33-year-old man allegedly threatened a 31-year-old. A 39-year-old witness said the suspect followed the man through the station concourse holding a knife and threatened to use it. The man targeted gave a different account: he said the suspect first threatened to hit him and then reached into his backpack without taking the knife out. Security staff later stopped the suspect in the underground station; federal police found a kitchen knife in his backpack and secured CCTV footage.
