Three injured after stabbing in Essen
A man was seriously injured by stab wounds during an altercation at a cultural association in Essen-Katernberg in the early hours of Saturday, 23 May. Four men had first been involved in verbal disputes before the confrontation became physical. According to police, two further people sustained apparently minor injuries. The seriously injured man received treatment at the scene and was taken to hospital. A suspect was found at the location and identified; police and prosecutors have set up a homicide investigation unit to examine the sequence of events and background.
