Man threatens passenger on ICE train at Essen central station
On Sunday morning, a 40-year-old man allegedly threatened a passenger on ICE 843 from Cologne to Berlin while the train was at Essen central station. Federal police said he told her he was carrying a knife and would injure her with it after she had asked him to extinguish a burning tissue. Officers arrived at platform 6 at about 06:40 and detained the man. No knife was found on him. He allegedly resisted while being taken off the train; after police measures, he was released and is to face allegations of making threats and resisting enforcement officers.
