Man threatens two passengers with knife at Erlangen station

At Erlangen station on 24 October 2026, a 19-year-old passenger pulled a knife and threatened two men. Earlier, a 22-year-old federal police officer travelling privately and his 21-year-old companion had spoken to him after he repeatedly vomited in their train carriage. When the three left the train at around 2:50 a.m., the 19-year-old insulted the men and then drew the knife. After he put it away, they held him until police arrived. Police seized the knife; a breath test showed a blood alcohol reading of 1.44 per mille, and the man said he had used cannabis earlier. A blood sample was taken after consultation with prosecutors.
