Man injures neighbour with knife in Ebstorf

A 58-year-old man is alleged to have injured a neighbour, also aged 58, in the arm with a knife in Ebstorf on 8 January. According to the investigation so far, the man had previously caused a fire in his apartment in a multi-unit building. At about 7:40 a.m., he allegedly smashed the window of an apartment in another residential building and injured the resident inside. The victim fled on foot. Police arrested the man a short time later on state road 250 towards Melzingen and seized, among other items, a knife. Police are investigating suspected attempted homicide and intentional arson; Bahnhofstraße was closed because of the fire service operation.
