Kiosk owner injured in attempted robbery in Dortmund
A 59-year-old kiosk owner was slightly injured during an attempted robbery at a kiosk on Mallinckrodtstraße in Dortmund. According to police and prosecutors, a 28-year-old suspect entered the kiosk around midday on Sunday, 19 January, and demanded cash and tobacco products while displaying a knife. When the owner tried to restrain him, the suspect allegedly stabbed him several times in the face and arm with the knife. A witness disarmed the man and held him until police arrived. The suspect is in pre-trial detention, while a homicide investigation team is investigating.
