Knife threat during altercation at Chemnitz bus stop

Two men were injured at the Kreherstraße bus stop in Chemnitz-Gablenz on Friday, 9 October 2026, and taken to hospitals. Police said a group of teenagers had got off a bus there. The group apparently misinterpreted a conversation between the men at the roadside; several teenagers approached and provoked them. One teenager held a knife and threatened the men with it. The 23-year-old man took the knife from him before several teenagers beat both men. The altercation took place at about 9:35 p.m. Police identified two teenage suspects at the scene and, after taking them to a police station, released them to their guardians; other participants had fled. Police are investigating dangerous bodily harm and a separate weapons-law offence involving one of the teenagers and a prohibited knife, which was seized. Witness video recordings are to be examined.
