Teenager arrested after knife threats in Chemnitz robbery incidents

A teenager allegedly threatened several people with a knife during robbery incidents in Chemnitz on 18 March. At the central stop on Rathausstraße, he threatened a 20-year-old wheelchair user after the man said he had no cash. Police said the teenager then intimidated two minors with threatened knife violence at a platform, and they handed over a total of 6.50 euros. At a bus stop on Hartmannstraße, he allegedly threatened a child, searched the child's schoolbag and found no money. Later, he is alleged to have struck another teenager, held a knife in front of him and intimidated him into following him to a supermarket. The affected teenager sought help from staff there. The five affected people were uninjured. Officers arrested the teenage suspect that evening; no knife or other dangerous object was found on him. He was due to be brought before an investigating judge.
