Man remanded in custody after attempted knife extortion in Celle
A 42-year-old man is alleged to have attempted to extort a handbag from a 72-year-old woman in central Celle. Early on the evening of 15 February, he approached her in the pedestrian zone, held up a knife and demanded the bag. The woman shouted loudly, after which the man fled. Witnesses attended to her, and she was not injured. Police arrested the suspect the following day. He was remanded in custody after appearing before a judge.
