Man with knife triggers police operation in Bremerhaven
Residents of an apartment building in Bremerhaven-Leherheide called police on 4 June because a man was causing a disturbance in his flat. Officers found him shouting on the building's external corridor while holding a knife. The 27-year-old resident then barricaded himself in his flat. As attempts to speak with him failed and the situation inside remained unclear, police and fire service personnel opened the door. He tried to push it shut from inside but was overpowered by officers and taken to hospital for examination. Police are investigating on suspicion of threats and resistance.
