Man runs towards police with knife in Bremen
Police specialist officers used a Taser on a 21-year-old man on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Bremen on Sunday evening, 27 September 2026, after he ran towards officers with a knife. Police had been called at around 9:05 p.m. about a man carrying a knife. At the scene, he waved the knife and repeatedly threatened to injure himself. Officers cordoned off the area, but attempts by a negotiation team to contact him failed. They stopped him with the Taser when he ran towards them. No one was injured. He was subsequently placed in a psychiatric clinic involuntarily; during the transfer, he repeatedly tried to spit at officers.
