Man arrested after switchblade extortion in Bremen
A 19-year-old suspect allegedly robbed an 18-year-old in Bremen's Bahnhofsviertel at around 6:30 a.m. on 25 May. According to police, he held a switchblade to the young man's neck, threatened to kill him and demanded money. After the 18-year-old handed over coins, the attacker is alleged to have repeatedly punched him and struck his head against a pane of glass. Officers located the fleeing suspect near the scene and provisionally detained him; the knife was not found. Investigations on suspicion of aggravated extortion are ongoing.
