Man seriously injured with knife-like object at Berlin commercial site
A 40-year-old man underwent emergency surgery after an alleged attack with a knife-like object at a commercial site on Herzbergstraße in Berlin. Police identified a 53-year-old man as the suspect. Police and firefighters were alerted at around 11:30 a.m.; paramedics stabilised the injured man and took him to hospital under emergency-doctor supervision. The suspect initially fled into another building on the site, which officers surrounded and searched. Meanwhile, he turned himself in at a police station and was arrested there. Police said the injured man was no longer in danger of dying. A judge was due to consider whether to issue an arrest warrant, while the circumstances of the attack remained under investigation.
