Man threatened with machete during alleged robbery in Berlin

A 42-year-old man is alleged to have threatened a 25-year-old man with a machete during an alleged robbery in Berlin. Police said the suspect allegedly lured the man into his apartment and initially demanded his mobile phone, laptop and the associated passwords. After the 25-year-old allegedly refused, the suspect is said to have hit him with a broomstick and threatened him with the machete. He allegedly later produced and loaded a submachine gun in front of the victim, who then handed over the demanded items. The 25-year-old suffered several bruises. Special police units arrested the suspect and seized a submachine gun and ammunition. The man was due to be brought before a remand judge.
