Armed man detained after conducted-energy device deployment in Berlin

Residents called police to an apartment on Göttinger Straße in Berlin-Steglitz on the afternoon of 15 June after a 29-year-old man allegedly forced his way inside. According to the initial findings, he armed himself in the apartment with a kitchen knife. When officers entered, the man is said to have ignored police instructions and moved towards them. An officer then deployed a conducted-energy device; the man was provisionally detained, received medical treatment and was admitted to hospital. A specialist unit is continuing the investigation.
