Man undergoes emergency surgery after stabbing on Berlin bridge

A 25-year-old homeless man was found on the evening of 19 September on Karl-Liebknecht Bridge in Berlin-Mitte with a stab wound to his upper body. Witnesses alerted emergency personnel at about 9:30 p.m., and officers provided first aid until an emergency doctor arrived. The man was taken to hospital for emergency surgery and was subsequently reported to be in a stable condition.

According to the findings so far, he had argued with an unidentified person over a bicycle. Police are investigating an attempted aggravated robbery. The suspect fled without taking anything.
