Six men injured in group altercation in Berlin

Six men were injured during an altercation between two groups on Karl-Liebknecht Bridge and nearby Rathaus Bridge in Berlin-Mitte. Witnesses called police at about 9:45 p.m. after the groups were reportedly seen confronting each other while armed with knives. The men sustained stab and cut injuries, and a 24-year-old received emergency treatment for a life-threatening back injury. The other injuries included wounds to hands, legs, the pelvis and the thorax. All injured men were taken to hospitals for treatment. Police detained a teenage girl and two men but released them after establishing their identities. Despite a search, no weapons or instruments were found, and investigators are continuing to examine the background of the altercation.
