51-year-old injured in knife stabbing during Kreuzberg confrontation

A 51-year-old man was injured in a knife stabbing during a physical confrontation in Berlin-Kreuzberg. According to police, a group of around 20 people attacked another group outside a late-night shop on Schlesische Straße on the evening of 19 July. Earlier arguments connected to a passing demonstration had initially been settled; former participants later returned before the larger group arrived at about 9:45 p.m. The confrontation moved from the pavement across the street and into Schlesisches Tor underground station. An 18-year-old allegedly stabbed first toward the 26-year-old son and then toward his 51-year-old father. Both father and son were taken to hospital for further treatment. Police arrested two suspects, aged 18 and 21, and the state security division is continuing the investigation.
