Man seriously injured in alleged knife attack at Neukölln bar

A 32-year-old man was seriously injured in the arm after a dispute at a bar on Weisestraße in Berlin-Neukölln. According to witnesses, a visitor had thrown an empty glass at a 50-year-old employee and his family member after repeatedly going behind the counter. The visitor initially left the bar with two companions who had also acted aggressively, but the two companions later returned and a scuffle followed. One of them allegedly attacked the 32-year-old with a knife, causing a heavily bleeding cut injury. The injured man was admitted to hospital and was expected to undergo surgery; doctors said his life was not in danger. Lasting impairment to movement in his arm could not initially be ruled out. The three men fled and police are investigating.
