An unidentified man is alleged to have threatened an employee with a knife at a grocery store in Bergisch Gladbach on 4 August. The employee had seen the man pass the checkout area with energy drinks without paying and followed him. During the ensuing confrontation, the man punched the employee in the stomach, drew a knife and threatened to kill him. The employee then stopped pursuing him. The suspect fled with some of the goods, and an initial search was unsuccessful.
