Train conductor threatened with utility knife in Bensheim

A 29-year-old man allegedly threatened a train conductor with a utility knife shortly before a regional train arrived at Bensheim station. The 53-year-old conductor had asked him to present a ticket on the route from Frankfurt to Mannheim on 3 August. According to police, the conductor stepped back to avoid an attack and the man fled when the train arrived. Investigators identified the suspect in part through body-camera footage. Following his arrest, a court ordered pre-trial detention on suspicion of robbery extortion.
