Man throws kitchen knife towards police officers
Police were called to Ratsstraße in Bad Salzungen at about 9:50 p.m. on 22 November 2025 following reports of shouting and a physical altercation. In a nearby side street, officers encountered a 47-year-old man causing a disturbance in his apartment. He allegedly confronted the officers while holding a kitchen knife and then deliberately threw it in their direction. Police used pepper spray and restrained the man. Two people who were slightly injured by him were identified later, while the heavily intoxicated man, who was also under the influence of drugs, was taken to hospital. Police said he now faces reports including bodily harm and resisting enforcement officers.
