Man remanded after attempted knife robbery at Aurich supermarket
A 40-year-old man has been remanded in custody following an attempted robbery at a supermarket on Leerer Landstraße in Aurich. On Friday evening at around 18:05, he is suspected of demanding that an employee open a safe while displaying a knife in the rear area of the store. The woman broke free and sustained minor injuries. Two witnesses then stopped and overpowered the man inside the supermarket before police provisionally arrested him. A court issued a detention order on Saturday, and the investigation is ongoing.
