Man arrested after knife threat in Augsburg
Police arrested a 49-year-old man after an argument on Jakoberstrasse in Augsburg. At about 7:15 p.m. on 27 April, he allegedly argued with two men whom he accused of stealing his backpack.
During the dispute, he is alleged to have damaged a bicycle and thrown a beer bottle that narrowly missed several uninvolved people. According to police, he returned around ten minutes later carrying a pistol and a knife, threatened one of the men and damaged the tyre of his bicycle. The pistol was a real weapon that had been rendered unusable. Investigators are pursuing allegations including dangerous bodily harm and threats against the 49-year-old.
