Man stabbed during relationship dispute in Aßlar

During relationship-related disputes in an apartment in Aßlar, a 43-year-old man allegedly stabbed his former partner’s new companion in the left thigh with a knife. The three people had met for a clarifying conversation when a physical confrontation developed between the two men. The 37-year-old was first treated by paramedics and then received hospital treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening; he was able to leave the hospital shortly afterwards. The suspect also allegedly threatened him with a blank-firing pistol. Police arrested the man and secured the knife and pistol. Prosecutors later ordered his release from police custody because there were no grounds for detention, while police and prosecutors investigate suspected dangerous bodily harm.
