Man with knife approaches police officers in Ansbach
A 47-year-old man approached responding police officers in Ansbach late on Saturday while visibly carrying a knife. Officers had repeatedly ordered him to put the knife down. After firing a warning shot, they used their firearm and struck the man in the leg. He received initial medical treatment and was taken to hospital; his injury was assessed as non-life-threatening. The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office is reviewing the lawfulness of the firearm use.
