Pre-trial detention after knife injury in Alzey castle park

A 24-year-old man is alleged to have injured a 26-year-old man with a knife after an argument in Alzey's castle park during the night of 9 May. Witnesses took the injured man to hospital. At the request of the Mainz public prosecutor's office, an investigating judge ordered pre-trial detention for the suspect on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. He was taken to a correctional facility, and the investigation is continuing.
