Man remanded in custody after box-cutter attack in Algermissen
A 36-year-old resident of accommodation for refugees in Algermissen is alleged to have lightly injured a 25-year-old fellow resident with a box cutter. Police and prosecutors said a verbal dispute at about 10:40 a.m. on 27 November initially developed into a physical confrontation. After the two men briefly separated, they allegedly met again and the conflict escalated once more. The 36-year-old is also alleged to have attacked a security employee who intervened with the box cutter, but the guard avoided the attack and was not injured. Both residents are under investigation for mutual bodily harm, while the 36-year-old also faces investigations for dangerous bodily harm and attempted dangerous bodily harm. He was arrested and remanded in custody because of a risk of absconding.
