A 33-year-old suspect has been remanded in custody following two alleged knife attacks in Aachen on 6 September. Police and prosecutors said he is alleged to have attacked and injured a 27-year-old man with a knife on Adalbertsteinweg near Ostfriedhof that afternoon. He allegedly fled towards Kaiserplatz, where police recognised and arrested him shortly afterwards using video surveillance.

Earlier that morning, the same man is alleged to have inflicted cut injuries on a 36-year-old man with a knife during a physical confrontation at Kaiserplatz. Criminal police are investigating both incidents, and a homicide squad was assigned to the Adalbertsteinweg case.
