Two young men seriously injured in knife attack on Wuppertal replacement bus
A verbal dispute between two groups developed late on 14 February on a rail replacement bus in Wuppertal. According to the investigation so far, a 19-year-old man then allegedly stabbed two young men with a knife. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospitals, with one requiring intensive care. The suspect fled when the bus stopped at Robert-Daum-Platz. Officers later provisionally detained him on Tannenbergstraße and recovered the suspected knife near the scene. Because a risk of self-harm could not be ruled out, a judge ordered his placement in a psychiatric clinic; a decision on pre-trial detention was due the following day.
