Three people injured at Weidenberg accommodation facility
Three people were injured in an attack at an accommodation facility for asylum seekers in Weidenberg on Monday afternoon. A 23-year-old resident is alleged to have first attacked the 29-year-old building manager, causing serious stab injuries, before attacking two other residents, who suffered cut and stab injuries. The building manager was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter with life-threatening injuries. The other two injured people also received medical treatment and, according to police, were not in life-threatening condition. Security staff overpowered the man before police officers arrested him. Investigators said the weapon used has not yet been established. A court ordered pre-trial detention for the suspect on suspicion of three counts of attempted murder and dangerous bodily harm.
