Man remanded after knife attack in Viersen
A 32-year-old man is alleged to have first been forced to slow down by another driver and then attacked with a knife on the B 221 near Stiegstraße in Viersen at about 20:00 on 7 February. He sustained life-threatening injuries but is now out of danger. His passenger suffered minor injuries during the confrontation. Police formed a homicide investigation team. A 55-year-old suspect was found in Bracht shortly after the incident and was later brought before a judge, who ordered pre-trial detention on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. At that stage of the investigation, police considered the violence to be relationship-related.
