Knife attack in Uetze: Police seek suspect
Police are seeking a 44-year-old man suspected of attacking his former partner’s new partner, aged 30, in Uetze at about 10 p.m. on 16 September 2026, using a knife among other means. The man who was attacked suffered minor injuries. He and the 41-year-old woman disarmed the suspected attacker and, with a neighbour who came to help, held him until police arrived. The 44-year-old was initially released after the first police measures. Later information that he had allegedly expressed a specific intent to kill in connection with the attack led authorities to classify the case as attempted homicide. Police could not find him when they tried to arrest him again; his whereabouts are unknown. They are now seeking him publicly.
