Woman critically injured after stabbing in Stuttgart shopping centre
A 47-year-old woman was critically injured at a shopping centre on Mailänder Platz in Stuttgart on Thursday morning. Witnesses reported a seriously injured woman at about 10:15 a.m., and emergency crews took her to hospital for intensive medical treatment.
A 54-year-old man is suspected of inflicting stab and burn injuries on her inside the shopping centre. He initially fled but was arrested at about 12:10 p.m. after a search that also involved a police helicopter. Initial inquiries indicated that the man and the woman had been in a personal relationship; the suspect was due to be brought before a remand judge.
