Man seriously injured after altercation in Stuttgart

A 45-year-old man suffered a neck stab wound and life-threatening head injuries during an altercation in Stuttgart-Mitte on Thursday evening. He had become involved in an initially verbal dispute with a 46-year-old man near the Stadtpalais, which turned physical. Another unidentified man is reported to have joined the confrontation, after which the 45-year-old fell. Emergency crews took him to hospital, and he was later no longer in life-threatening danger. Police detained the 46-year-old near the scene before releasing him after their measures; the second suspect escaped.
