Man arrested in Stuttgart after resisting with knife

A 42-year-old man is alleged to have left a restaurant on Ulmer Straße in Stuttgart-Wangen on the evening of 8 April without paying a bill of about 40 euros. When the 51-year-old owner confronted him, the man allegedly ran away. After he fell, the owner held him while the suspect allegedly took an unopened knife from his pocket and continued to resist. A passer-by helped restrain him until police arrived. The man was arrested and was due to appear before a remand judge.
