Employee picks up knife during dispute in Speyer
A confrontation occurred at a café on Maximilianstraße on the edge of the SWR Festival in Speyer at around 16:15 on 29 June. A 22-year-old had knocked over a bakery advertising sign and made a death threat gesture toward an employee who confronted him. Fearing an assault, the employee picked up a knife that was at the scene, after which the 22-year-old fled. Officers detained him near the bakery and took him into custody. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him.
