Knives displayed during dispute after carnival event in Schopfheim
Following a carnival event in Schopfheim, a dispute occurred on 9 February at around 1:20 a.m. behind a restaurant near Austraße and Hauptstraße. A 32-year-old man was reportedly involved in a verbal confrontation with a man from a passing group as he was getting out of a car. The man allegedly struck the 32-year-old on the head with a baton, while other members of the group reportedly drew knives and held them in their hands. The injured man sustained a laceration and was taken to hospital. The group of eight to ten people, whose members were estimated to be 18 to 20 years old, fled towards Fahrnau.
