Coswig stabbing: attempted manslaughter trial scheduled
A 53-year-old man is due to stand trial at Dessau-Roßlau Regional Court from 9 November 2026 over a stabbing in Coswig. Prosecutors accuse him of attempted manslaughter combined with aggravated assault, and he is in pre-trial detention. According to the prosecution, he was intoxicated when he stabbed a man in the abdomen on 15 May 2026 after an initial verbal argument. The life-threatening injury required emergency surgery. Before the stabbing, the defendant allegedly disrupted the injured man's birthday celebration by repeatedly shouting Nazi slogans outside his apartment.
